Rutin Content of the Grain of Seven Buckwheat (Fagopyrum Esculentum Moench) Varieties from Belarus Grown in Central and Southern Italy

The analysis of the rutin content of the grain of seven F. esculentum varieties, provided by the Institute of Arable Farming and Plant Breeding of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, grown in the summer 2006 at the locations of Matrice (Central Italy) and Camigliatello Silano (Southern Italy), was carried out. Appreciable values of rutin content, higher than 20 mg /100 g dry weight (DW) were observed, at the location of Camigliatello Silano. Only the varieties Iliya and Karmen showed satisfactory levels of rutin content at the location of Matrice, where the rutin content was in general on the low side of the potential of the species.
