Hyperfine Milling Properties of Different Parts of Tartary Buckwheat

This study was carried out to determine the possibility of hyperfine milling. Young sprouts(9 days-old), whole grains, and matured stems of Tartary buckwheat were used in this experiment. The materials, were dried in a far infrared drier at 60 ℃ by less than 8% in water content (Wb). Dried materials were crushed with a crusher. A hyperfine mill used in this study was Turbo Mill which was manufactured by ourselves.Mean particle size and specific surface area in sprout powder were respectively 15.416 urn and 1.39 m2/g. Mean particle size and specific surface area in whole seeds powder were respectively 11.902 μm and 1.34 m2/g. Mean particle size and specific surface area in matured stem powder were respectively 34.213 μm and 0.85 m2/g.
