Preparation and Characterization of Polyclonal Antibodies Against Buckwheat Trypsin Inhibitor

Buckwheat is an ancient and specialty grain in China. Due to its unique chemical and bio-activity components, buckwheat has been found to have many uses in food products and medicines. Polyclonal antibodies to the purified rBTI (recombinant buckwheat protease inhibitors) were raised in rats. The ELISA titer of antiserum against BTI was about 1:128, 000. Western blot analysis showed that the antiserum could bind to the expression rBTI specifically. The rat antibody against BTI can be used to study the biological function, BTI localization and BTI gene expression in buckwheat further.
