Discussion on Structure Stress Influence Factors of Concrete Face Rock Dam

1 IntroductionThe CFRD is a new dam type that has been developed fast in the last three decades. It hasadvantages of having simple structure, acquiring necessary material locally, constructingconveniently, having low leading flows request, short construction period and low building pricelow. Its developed foreground is very good. Our country built the CFRD from the mid 80s in 20centuries, and expanded very quickly in the whole country. The tallest face rock dam that hadalready set up is Tianshengqiao Hydropower Station (high 178ms). The tallest dam being set upis the Shuibuya Hydropower Station (high 233ms). The concrete face dam defends the seepage by rigid material and the face is the main structure todefend the seepage, so the concrete face is a very decisive problem to relate to the safecirculation of the face dam.
