A COUPLED ELASTOPLASTIC DAMAGE MODEL FOR CEMENT-BASED MATERIALS DUE TO DESICCATION
A coupled elastoplastic damage model is proposed to describe the mechanical behavior of cement-based materials with capillary effect due to desiccation. A particular emphasis is put on the pressure sensitivity of plastic flow and damage evolution when. confining pressure increases. We present first experimental data on a mortar subjected to desiccation tests to display the effect of desiccation on mechanical behavior. Secondly, the model is presented to describe the principle mechanical properties of cement-based materials. Finally, we compare numerical simulations and experimental data to show the capacity of the model to reproduce characteristics of mortar.
