A RHEOLOGICAL DAMAGE MODEL FOR COUPLED THERMO-HYDRO-MECHANICAL ANALYSIS FOR ROCK MASS

Based on the fundamental principles of coupling theory, rheology and damage mechanics of rock mass in this paper, the rheological damage model for fully coupled thermo-hydro-mechanical analysis of rock mass is set up, and the corresponding damage constitutive equation, the conservation equation of mass and the conservation equation of energy are given, and the finite element formulas are derived for coupling analysis of rock mass. During establishing the governing equations, rock mass is assumed approximately as macro-equivalent continuum medium with random distributing pores and cracks. Finally, the applications of obtained rheological damage model for fully coupled thermo-hydro-mechanical analysis to underground liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage caverns and the long-term stability of underground cavern engineering are discussed.
