Layout and new technology application of Main dam monitoring system for Baise Multipurpose dam project
The main dam of Baise Multipurpose dam project is a full-section RCC gravity dam with a total height of 130m, a total dam crest length of 720m. The construction of dam body needs concrete of 2,600,000m3 in total. The dam base falls on a Variscan intrusion diabase belt approx. 120m wide, with erosion belts and weak layers of silicalite and mudstone etc. distributed upstream and downstream it, which determine the monitoring emphasis including dam base deformation, filtration, environmental capacity, dam body horizontal and vertical displacement, filtration capacity,temperature, stress, strain. In the course of construction, high-precision, permanent deformation monitoring network had been arranged for the monitoring of horizontal and vertical displacement, a total of 481 sets of monitoring instruments of various types had been embedded, and the automatic monitoring system was also set up and put into operation already. With regard to dam body temperature control, the new technology of fiber-optic temperature measuring was adopted combined with scientific research results besides normal thermometers, which has demonstrate preliminary effects.
