Research of temperature tracer method to detecting tubular leakage in dykes and dams
In order to regulate leakage dykes and dams, leakage intensity, scope and location of leakage passage need to determine. In this paper, after theory of heat tracer method and laws of temperature distribution of soil body in which seepage and leakage occur explicitly discussed, temperature field tracer model is established by stable heat conduction theory,in which concentrated seepage passage is reduced to circular pipe. Circular pipe and the temperature values from detecting wells are treaded as boundary conditions. The location, scale, velocity and temperature gradient of concentrated leakage passage are analytically estimated by this model with map of temperature distribution got from temperature values in detecting wells. Case study on lowest plane indicates the model is effective when the vertical flow velocity is not very high.
