Rehabilitation of Asphalt Concrete Facing in Nangudong Reservoir
The asphalt concrete facing of Nangudong reservoir has serious problems of flow-up and cracking, which must be rehabilitated. In the rehabilitation, the optimum mix is adopted, a mixing plant for producing road asphalt mix is modified to produce qualified hydro asphalt mix. The advanced finisher LMP-3 is used to place asphalt mix, LMP-3 has pre-compaction function, which could ensure construction quality. The inspection results demonstrate that the asphalt concrete quality in Nangudong Reservoir’s rehabilitation is very good. Construction techniques and experiences in this project could be used in other similar project rehabilitation.
