Underwater Concrete

Group of bored piles made out of underwater concrete were used in king tower foundations of Sutong Yangtze River Bridge and Nanjing No.3 Yangtze River Bridge. Strength, flowability, cohesiveness, water retentivity were required by underwater concrete. To meet these requirements, HLC-NAF2 pumping aid for concrete was introduced to prepared underwater concrete. The flowability of prepared underwater concrete was very well. The slumps were above 100mm after mixing for 10 or 8 hours. After stiffness, the compressive strength of underwater concrete developed well. Underwater concrete used in Bridges was qualified with mathematical statistics method. The verticality of piles fulfilled the request of design. Underwater concrete can be used in reinforcement and repair of dams.
