General Situation and Notable Issues in Diseases Harnessing of Reservoir works
Contributing to the development of economic and security of the people, reservoirs are multipurpose with function of flood control, electricity generation, irrigation, water supply, and navigation. However, a large proportion of reservoir works in China have different kind of diseases, which not only holds back the benefit but affects the safety of these projects, to some extent. In recent years, Chinese government has invested enormous funds in reservoir works to carry out disease harnessing, which leads to considerable effects. But, some new diseases have emerged in some projects due to improper measures or quality problems. The authors try to discuss the main issues in course of the diseases harnessing of reservoirs, according to analyzing the excuse of accident of Bayi Reservoir.
