Isotope Tracing Technique and it’s Application in Leakage Survey for Dike and Dam
Leakage is a popular problem and is sometimes very dangerous in the operating period of dike and dam. The leakage positions of them should be found out before they are treated in effect. This paper introduces isotope tracing technique, including artificial and environmental isotope tracing technique, and its application on the survey of dike and dam leakage. Then two successful project examples are given. One is the leakage survey of asphalt concrete core wall of Majiagou reservoir, the other is the leakage tracing through impermeable wall and the area of concrete apron in Jicun hydropower station. The study indicated that asphalt concrete core wall of Majiagou reservoir seeped terribly because of the fissure appearing between ZK7 and ZK7-1 and between ZK7-2 and ZK8. A central water leakage path was found out along the fault of F16 to the right sandless pipe in the right dam of Jicun hydropower station.
