A ROV For Dam Security Inspection
The computer simulation and the experiments show that using different acoustic instruments, HRIS and PS as main inspectors and ROV as a carrier, with the addition of underwater video, inspecting the dams in the water is a advanced technique. It may get a complete 3D image of dam body, including surface and inside, and so the damage situation can be clearly shown in the screen. It is a new and powerful tool for dam security inspection. The developed ROV system can be applied also to other underwater measurement and inspection cases.
