Study on the Detecting the Dams’ Flaws Using the Electromagnetic and Acoustic Technologies
This paper introduced a new technology based on the principle of geophysics’ to detect and evaluates the dam security. The technology is portable, fast, simple and economical. Moreover it can work online and is a non-destructive method. Following the idea of evolving and tracing of the micro-crevice in the supervising and forecast of geologic calamity, magnetic prospecting and Acoustic Emission (AE) were used to find the abnormal in the electromagnetic field and the sound field. The application in practice has proved that the technology can evaluate the condition of the dam and its vicinity correctly and effectively.
