Research of Polymer Optical Waveguide Material Used in Optical-Electronic Printed Circuit Boards
In the paper, demand of polymer optical waveguide material used in OE-PCB was reviewed. Main demand include Low optical loss, High thermal stability, Good environmental stability, Low birefringence, Good mechanical strength, Good refractive index control, Low cost and environmental friendly material, Similar coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) value as the other materials in use. At the same, performance of optical waveguide in OE-PCB was summarized mainly. Main polymer optical waveguide material including acrylate, Epoxy, Benzocyclobutenes (BCB), Polyimide (PI). Fluorinated Poly(Arylene Ether Sulfide).
