2-Layer Flexible Copper Clad Laminates-NEOFLEX
1. Introduction Nowadays, 2-layer Flexible Copper Clad Laminates (FCCLs) are indispensable materials for cell phones, and as cell phones become thinner needing higher reliability and flexural endurance, so too is it necessary for FCCLs to also be thinner and have higher reliability and flexibility.Mitsui Chemicals has developed a thin and highly flexible FCCL called, NEOFLEXof which there is NEX (a cast type series) and NFX (a laminate type series). They can endure over 100 thousand cycles in slide phone tests with a GAP of 2.0 mm (R = 1.0 mm) using a cover-lay film and an electro-magnetic wave shield. In this paper, we would like to present the process, properties and the reasons why the new NEOFLEX series is so tough and flexible.
