Meeting Market & Regulatory Requirements in an Environmental Compliance World
The role of the quality department in any electrical or electronics organisation used to be simple enough; satisfy ISO 9000 and any performance or commercial requirements detailed by individual customers and the job was more-or-less done. These quality departments and those in other industries now have to metamorphosis into a (Risk and) Compliance Department. Industry, as a whole, is subject to a growth of legislation fuelled by environmental requirements from almost every world region. This is in addition to performance and safety requirements. It is now difficult to know who to do the job, not only understand when it is complete.
