Object-Oriented Methodology for Intersection Simulation Model under Heterogeneous Traffic Conditions

In developing countries like India,the traffic on roads is highly heterogeneous in nature with wide ranging static and dynamic characteristics of vehicles.The heterogeneous traffic does not follow strict lane discipline.To study this type of complex traffic system and vehicle interactions,simulation is considered as an effective tool.An object-oriented methodology for heterogeneous traffic simulation is proposed in this paper with greater concentration on mid-block modeling and intersection modeling.The important contribution of this paper is the development of software objects for mid-block modeling,which can be reused in modeling intersection traffic flow.
