Numerical analysis of phase separation under vibration with LBM

Fluid dynamics in phase separation system subject to a vibration perpendicular to gravity is analyzed by using a lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) based on the He-Shan-Doolen (HSD) model.The vibrations considered correspond to sinusoidal translations of a rigid cavity at a fixed frequency.Interaction between gravity and vibration-induced convection is studied.The ability of applied vibration to influence the phase separation behavior and deposition is investigated.
