The Research of Dual NURBS Curve interpolation algorithm for 5 axis high speed machining
In order to overcome the disadvantages of conventional CNC machining methods,smooth feedrate optimization scheme have been used in many CNC machines to minimize the start/stop motions and to achieve a constant feed rate.However,this scheme meets the problem of having some short linear segment cannot be discretized exactly in an integer interpolation period because of the nonzero start velocity of the segment,and the small remnant which makes in the end will cause the position error or speed fluctuation.To overcome these drawbacks,the variable period feed interpolation algorithm for high-speed five-axis machining having the function of “Look-ahead is proposed.The algorithm overcomes the speed fluctuation in the last period effectively.Meanwhile the precision and speed of machining is improved greatly.To ensure the real-time,we test the delay caused by the changes of the period length.With the efficient adjusting method,the delay can be controlled in allowable extent.Finally,the presented algorithm is demonstrated by the experimental results.
