Multiple infrared sensors RIMM-EKF maneuvering target tracking algorithm

To track a maneuvering target using infrared-sensor surveillance system,a reweighted interacting multiple model extended Kalman filter algorithm based on the central fusion scheme is proposed in this paper.To get better tracking precision,the multiple model method is improved by both the interacting process and the “reweighted operation,which is derived by alternating expectation conditional maximization algorithm.EKF is introduced to solve the nonlinearity of IR measurements,and multi-sensor central fusion scheme is adopted to solve the weak observability of IR system.The performance of the new method is evaluated by tracking a maneuvering target with coordinate turn motion,passively.The simulation results show that,comparing with IMM-EKF,the proposed algorithm could achieve higher tracking precision for maneuvering target with only small more computational costs.
