STRUCTURAL HEALTH MONITORING SYSTEM BASED ON VIRTUAL INSTRUMENT TECHNOLOGY
A structure health monitoring system based on virtual instrument technology is developed. All the subsystems are analyzed in their functions, characteristics and implementations. A data acquisition system based on the platform of LabVIEW is developed to acquire the signals of optic fiber Bragg grating sensors and traditional electrical sensors synchronously. Through mixed programming of LabVIEW and MATLAB, the powerful wavelet toolbox of MATLAB is used for noise reduction and damage diagnosis. The database development technique based on LabVIEW and SQL Server 2000 is introduced. The stabilization of the system and the effectiveness of the damage diagnosis method are confirmed on a twostory steel frame.
