Effects of time delay on saturation control of flexible cantilever beam
The phenomenon of time delay exists widely in the process of feedback control of structure vibration. This paper focuses on the effects of time delay which was ignored in the previous research on the saturation control of a flexible cantilever beam. Considering the time delay existing in the feedback and control signals, studying on the situation of primary resonance and 2:1 internal resonance occurring simultaneously, solving the nonlinear differential equations with the method of multiple scales and obtaining the approximate solutions involving time delay terms, we learn the influence of time delay on the saturation control. The results show that, time delay could change the threshold value of the saturation absorber coming into operation. The effective frequency range of saturation control would be changed if considering time delay.
