Study on Mode Split Model Considering Income Factor
Mode split is the probability of passenger volume distribution among two or more traffic patterns and it shows that how much the fraction of passenger moved by distinct travel modes is. Proper study on mode split and proper forecasts of passenger flows are one of basic works in transportation research. In this paper, a new utility function is proposed to evaluate the mode split based on random utility model, which includes passenger’s income besides travelling cost and time. And then the parameters of model are estimated by means of Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE). Finally, an illustration is given to show their application according to the traffic data of Beijing-Shanghai corridor and the workers’ salary data in JIANGSU province.
