Introduction to Constraints Focused Maintenance
The study of new Maintenance methodologies that allows an increase in the levels of reliability, maintainability and availability of equipment has roused a great interest in the last years, but in manufacturing hybrid systems (Lean manufacturing and Agile manufacturing) has not been developed yet. The objective of this paper is to present a reference frame and an introduction of a new maintenance methodology developed thru an axiomatic design approach to be applied in companies that need to have a great capacity to answer to the increased tendency to produce great variety of products with high variable demands and in this way cover the missing methodology. The keys factors on this new approach are the constraints of the processes and the equipment, for that reason, has been called Constraints Focused Maintenance.
