Analysis on Source Strategy of Manufacture Specification in Outsourcing Based on Game Theory
A model of strategic outsourcing decision making based on protection of manufacturing specification (MS) is analyzed based on game theory. Using the game theory, it is considered that the risks of vendors invade downstream industries and make discriminatory price due to the absence of MS. Introducing the hypothesis of available MS input and MS route flow, twostage complete information dynamic game models are built. From the game analysis of different core-degree parts or processes, the making in-house or outsourcing decisions of the manufacturer and cooperation degree and its MS source strategy in the outsourcing process with the supplier are proposed. The implicit mechanism of a manufacturer for MS input is revealed and relative source strategies of MS are identified. Compared with traditional models, this model emphasizes on the significance of knowledge management factors in strategic outsourcing decision-making.
