Research on Water Inventory Control Model of South-to-North Transfer Supply Chain
In South-to-North Water Transfer Project, how to allocate and transfer the limited project water is a problem needed to solve urgently. Water inventory control of the lakes along the Project is an important research in the operation management of the Project. This study introduced the theory of product inventory control of SCM into water inventory control of the lakes. When the flood was considered, it established centralized, independent and VMI control models of water inventory. Then it deduced optimal water order quantity and profit models of the lake under different control policies. Finally, by comparing the effect of independent and VMI control policies, it gains the conclusion that the implementation of VMI policy can steadily enhance the profits of the node lake and the whole water supply chain but that the increase of the profit of the pumping mouth at the Changjiang River is not guaranteed. Furthermore, it validated the conclusions by simulation testing.
