SAFETY SYSTEM CONCEPTION BY USING A SEMI QUANTITATIVE RELIABILITY EVALUATION APPLICATION TO RAIL-ROAD TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS
The subject of this article relates to analysis, modeling, optimization and design of adapted architecture for complete systems The paper proposes a safety system design methodology. This methodology is based on functional tools and on decision tools. This method uses a description of the system based on a safetyfunctional hierarchical analysis. Then, this method researches solutions that offer the best level of reliability at lower cost. A particularity of this method is that dependability is considered with a semi-qualitative point of view. This methodology is applied here to the complete rail-road transportation system and more particularly to a fire detection system.
