A model of a digital repository for an improved handling of technical documentation
Maintenance is an important function of the product life cycle. Maintenance activities and tasks are more and more supported by electronic document systems. Studies we have carried out on the use of technical digital documentation in di erent industrial domains conduct us to consider that electronic consultation is often not adapted to the tasks of the users. As an example we will focus here on the important issue of the updating of continuously changing technical documentation. To address this issue, we propose here a model to support the process of updating. This model may be connected to specific business models and to a general archiving reference model. This model could also be helpful to define a generic way of modeling digital document systems along the whole product life cycle.
