Inventory Control of Deteriorating Items with Uncertain Demand and Inflation Rates within a Finite Planning Horizon
In this paper, we study the ordering system of deteriorating items under a stochastic situation which the demand rate and the inflation rate follow two tabular discrete probability functions. We suppose that the deterioration starts after an interval that the items held in storage and its rate follows a Weibull density function. The planning horizon is finite and divided to some equal ordering cycles. The shortages are permitted and backordered in all of the cycles except the last one. We develop a procedure to find the optimal ordering policy with respect to the net present value of total expected costs.
