Multi-Facility Management of Production and Inventory Planning Problem
This paper considers demand of single item in multi-periods and multi-facilities could be selected in each of these periods for the production of items. Furthermore, capacity constraints on the production levels have to be taken into account in each facility. The model presented in this paper thus attempts to bridge the gap between the earlier single-item multi-periods discrete lot-sizing models and the newer supplier selection models. A straightforward dynamic programming approach is presented and improved to address the problem.
