Inventory Decision for a Furniture Distribution System under Fuzzy Environment
An attempt to handle imprecise demand and imprecise cost parameters in inventory modeling for a furniture distribution system by using fuzzy sets has been studied in this paper. An optimization model of integrating total cost and service level for this distribution system is established whose object function is the defuzzied value of fuzzy total cost of entire distribution system and constraints is the defuzzied value of possible service level at retailers larger than theirs target service level. Then, an approach of modeling possible service level as constrains of the optimization model is proposed, which can assist decision makers in evaluating and selecting an appropriate inventory policy. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the solving process of this model.
