Adaptive Delivery of Knowledge: a Context-based Approach
Current knowledge management solutions are not sufficiently aware of the context of the user so that delivered Knowledge Objects (KOs) could not match the user current knowledge demand well. To solve such a problem, a context-based, adaptive knowledge delivery approach is proposed, which is achieved by contextualizing KOs and knowledge delivery process. After the process of adaptive delivering knowledge based on context is analyzed, three key technologies to implement this process are presented in details, which are modeling context-integrated knowledge, acquiring user context and finding matching KOs based on context similarity. A component-based architecture of the adaptive delivery system is put forward, and a case study is illustrated. This adaptive delivery approach allows to deliver KOs which are relevant to the current situation of the user, and experimental results indicate that our approach to improve KM is both effective and efficient.
