Dispersion Characteristics Analysis of Lossy Coaxial Metal Waveguide with 4-Component Compact 2-D FDFD Method
A 4-Component compact 2-D finite-difference frequency-domain (FDFD) method is applied for the analysis of dispersion characteristics of lossy coaxial metal waveguide.Although the longitudinal field components are eliminated in this method and only four transverse field components are involved in the final resulting eigen equation,the surface-impedance boundary condition (SIBC) can still be easily implemented with even much simpler discrete expression as compared to the existing approaches by which six field components are comprised.By solving the eigen equation,the propagation constant is obtained for a given frequency.Very good agreement is achieved.
