An Integrated Product and Process Development Model Supporting Entire Life Cycle
Product and its development process modeling arevery important to product life cycle design. Productslife cycle is a continuous and changing time process,and can be divided into a sequence of life phases. Theproduct status evolves from one to another throughthese life phases. Some evaluation factors, such as cost,reliability, time and environment impacts can beapplied on each life phase to evaluate its correspondingperformance. In this paper, in order to improve productquality, minimize the life cycle cost and optimize thedesign process, the three-dimensional model of lifecycle design and the frame of integrated product andprocess development were developed. Productdevelopment process was viewed as an optimizationprocess to find a process set under given evaluationfactors such that the set of evaluation indices of entirelife cycle is optimized. The state equations of process,energy, material and information of productdevelopment were developed. Finally, we provide abrief report of our application of the methodologyproposed above to a loader development.
