Research on Internet-based Real-time Collaborative Image Editing Systems
In this paper, we present concurrency controltechniques used in Collaborative IMage EditingSystems (CIMES). CIMES adopts a replicatedarchitecture: shared pattern images are replicated atthe each participant site; so image operations areperformed at local sites immediately and thenpropagated to remote sites. An image operationtransformation algorithm is proposed to resolve theimage editing conflicting caused by multi-usercollaborative editing and to maintain the consistency ofshared image. Then, an image undo/redo algorithm ispresented to support group undo in the same editingsessions. Finally, a distributed locking mechanism isused as a concurrency control tool in somecollaborative phase to prohibition of shared updatingto a region. All of these are realized in CIMES.
