An Intelligent Collaborative Engineering System over the Internet
As business organizations are struggling tocompete in global market, they focus on theefficient sharing numerous information on design,development, production, distribution,procurement of final output, and the throughouttheir whole life cycles in the network-drivencollaborative enterprise environment. To meet theorganizations demands, collaborativeengineering system has been recently focused as adominant philosophy and companies arecompelled to adopt the paradigm to sustain acompetitive edge in the business market. Thispaper proposes a collaborative engineeringsystem over the Internet in which decisions onproduct design, process design and manufacturingsystem design are simultaneously made at aninitial phase of product development period overthe Internet. The system is likely to help improvethe engineering product development capabilityand quality.
