Critical Issues in Extending p2p-based SwinDeW System for Incomplete Process Support
However, such support is rather weak in most oftodays workflow systems. Particularly, incompleteprocess support is hardly ever considered indecentralised workflow environments. This paper reports innovative research on incompleteprocess support, which was carried out in the context ofSwinDeW-a novel, peer-to-peer based decentralisedworkfiow approach. In this paper, the practice ofmanaging, research projects through decentralisedworkflow is used to illustrate the causes of incompleteprocesses. The needs for incomplete process support arethus highlighted and a wide range of issues aboutextending SwinDeW for incomplete process support areidentified and discussed. In addition, some initialsolutions are also introduced.
