Configurable Electronic Journal (CEJ) -Towards Flexible Scientific Knowledge Infrastructures
This paper presents the Configurable ElectronicJournal (CEJ), a solution for generating configurableand extensible electronic journals. CEJ environment isflexible to accommodate different styles of publication, suitable to be used in different processes anddisciplines. Some key goals of CEJ project includeexperimenting with new collaborative forms ofscholarly communication as well as discovering newroles in the scientific publication process. The systemwas designed and implemented using open technologiesof W3C Semantic Web, including the eXtended MarkupLanguage (XML), XPointer and annotationtechnologies. It is also built upon Struts, an opensource MVC-based framework for Java Webapplications.
