Peer-to-Peer Collaborative Editing of Ontologies

摘要：

In this paper we present COE, a peer-to-peercollaborative ontology editor, which supports creation,edition, sharing, and reuse of ontologies. COE wasimplemented on top of a general-purpose peer-to-peerframework, COPPEER.Ontologies are particularly useful as a design toolbecause they render the communication between peopleand the interoperability between systems easier.In large multidisciplinary design projects, ontologiescan be a critical success factor. The collaborativecreation of ontologies allows for better understandingamong participants of a project and economy ofresource among projects. Meanwhile, a P2P approachis expected to enable new modes of collaboration.
