A Mechanism for Persistently Naming Topological Entities
Nowadays, history-based, constraint-based andfeature-based modeling is supported by mostcommercial systems. Several solutions of persistentnaming have been provided which is used to identifyentities in an original model and match them in re-evaluated models. The purpose of this paper is toprovide a hybrid, simple and effective approach tohandle this traditional issue. The authors design a face-based and history-based naming mechanism whichincludes entity naming and entity retrieval. Thenecessary history information of faces is kept by facesname. All topological entities are managed by threekinds of tables: face tables, edge tables and vertextables. Whats more, a two-level representation isprovided to support model re-revaluation.
