Nested Knowledge Space Model and Awareness Processing in the Web-based Collaborative Learning Environment
In the collaborative learning environment, the rationallearning navigation and flexible awareness processingmust be provided. In this paper, the nested knowledgespace model is presented including knowledge domain,four kinds of relations among them and knowledge spaceetc. Based on the model, the web-based collaborativelearning environment is established and the learningmaterials in the system are organized and managed,which can help the user to get his needed learningdocuments. To help the users to communicate and get ridof their isdatedfeeling in the CSCL system, the multi-level awareness processing model based on the nestedknowledge space model is presented, in which there aretwo awareness methods: multi-levels awareness spacemethod and customize monitor method. In addition, tofilter the redundant information and protect the usersprivacy, the information filter and privacy protector areprovided.
