An Efficient Queueing Scheme for Multicast Packet Switching Routers
In order to improve CSCW (Computer SupportedCooperative Work) collaboration effectively, multicastsupported touters is needed. Integration of multicast andunicast traffic and fairness between multicast and unicasttraffic are issues that have gone largely untouched.Ideally, no artificial distinction should be made betweenthe two types of traffic with respect to either the queueingscheme or the scheduling algorithm in order to ensurefairness. As the multicast load increases unicast receivesless and less service, it is highly urgent to solve thisproblem.In this paper, an efficient queueing scheme formulticast packet switching touters is proposed. And therelated buffer management and scheduling algorithm arealso presented based on the proposed queueing scheme.Performance evaluation on the proposed system showthat better average delay and loss performance can beachieved in comparison with the ESLIP12 system.
