3D Human Mandible Reconstruction from CT Data
This paper presents a series of new methods forhuman mandible reconstruction, based on thecharacteristics of CT data. Our work involves medicalimage segmentation and surface reconstructionalgorithms. Firstly, a new segmentation method namelyno-seed region segmentation is employed to extractthe planar contours. Then, a reference curve is created,and the normalized position of the contours on thecurve is used to solve the correspondence and branchingproblem in surface reconstruction. Finally, tiling isimplemented by mating points at multi-order convexhulls.
