WSFRB Protocol and Virtual Program Computing
To enable single program be shared by multicollaborating users in the virtual network computingenvironment, this paper proposed a new concept ofvirtual program computing, that is, a single program isrunning in the remote computer and the graphical userinterface of this program is displayed in the localcomputer, and also, the program accept the keyboard andmouse input from the local computer. To realize thevirtual program computing, we proposed a new protocolcalled WSFRB Protocol (Windows Size within RemoteFrame Buffer Protocol) based on virtual networkcomputing. The WSFRB protocol clips the size of remoteframe buffer by using the window size and position of therunning program in remote server. Therefore the datatransmitted in the network can be reduced greatlycompare to FRB protocol. The application of the WSFRBprotocol and virtual program computing in the NMSintegration systems are investigated in detail.Experiments and application have demonstrated that thevirtual program computing offered a great flexibility increating a new collaborating computing environment.
