Workflow Modeling: A Structured Approach

摘要：

The workflow technology has been an active area ofresearch for the past few years. The conceptual modelingof workflow is the first, and arguably the most important,step towards applying this technology. A well defined,error-free workflow model leads to the development of aneffective workflow application. So, how to ensure thecorrectness and consistency of a workflow model is acore issue in workflow modeling. We have adopted astructured approach to workflow modeling, much likethe way modern structured programming languageswork, to avoid a great variety of modeling errors. Themotivation, idea and some correctness andexpressiveness issues will all be coved in this paper.
