Experimental study on impact behaviors of concrete filled steel tubular stub columns
Concrete-filled tubular (CFT) columns are being more and more utilized in construction of tall buildings and bridges. The CFT column system, which are proved to have excellent load carrying capacity and ductility, by static and simulated seismic loading tests, are also expected to have good dynamic impact behavior. The impact-resistance of concrete-filled steel tube (CFT) was experimentally studied using a drop weight hammer of up to 800 kg mass. The force and strain time history curves of the tested specimens were recorded to analyze the impact behavior of CFT columns.
