Optimization Model of E-waste Reverse Logistics and Recycling Network
Based on the analysis of the e-waste(electronicwaste) reverse logistics network and thecharacteristics of its planning, this paper presents amixed-integer linear programming(MILP)model, which has cost minimization as its objective from theoverall perspective of reverse logistics. The factorsconsidered in the model include the cost of collection, disassembly and treatment, processing capacity, salesincome from material fractions after disassembly orbulk recycling, and material flows between differentspecialized facilities,as well as the effect ofgovernmental policy, such as recycling subsidy.Themodel is not limited to the multi-tiered structure ofreverse logistics network, but considers bulk recyclingfacilities as a sub-network,which can flexibly supportlogistics activity among the facilities within the sub-network,which reflects the actual operations.Input ofthe network can be multiple types of e-wastes and theoutput could be different material fractions includingvaluable and hazardous substances. The proposedoptimization model can help determine the optimalfacility location and the material flows in the network.
