A Compression Algorithm of Hyperspectral Remote Sensing Image Based on 3-D Wavelet Transform and Fractal
In this paper,the 3-D Wavelet-Fractal coding wasused to compress the hyperspectral remote sensingimage.The classical eight kinds of affinetransformations in 2-D fractal image compressionwere generalized to nineteen for the 3-D fractal imagecompression.Hyperspectral image date cube was firsttranslated by 3-D wavelet and then the 3-D fractalcompression coding was applied to lowest frequencysubband.The remaining coefficients of higherfrequency subbands were encoding by 3-D SPIHT.Weuse eight-fork tree division algorithm to improve thematching accuracy and reduce the time of fractalcoding.The new compression method had been testedby MATLAB.The experiment results indicate that wecan gain high compression ratios and the informationloss is acceptable.
