Active Insulin Infusion Using Fuzzy-Based Closed-loop Control
In this paper a closed-loop control algorithm isdeveloped for blood glucose regulation in lype Idiabetes mellitus patients.The control techniqueincorporates expert knowledge about treatment ofdisease by using Mamdani-type fuzzy logic controllerto stabilize the blood glucose concentration innormoglycaemic level of 70 mg/dl.Controllerperformance is assessed in terms of its ability to rejectthe multiple meal disturbances resulting from foodintake,on an averaged nonlinear patient model.Robustness of the controller is tested over a group ofpatients with model parameter varying considerablyfrom the average model.In addition,proposedcontroller provides the possibility of more accuratecontrol of blood glucose level in the patient in spite ofuncertainly in model and measurement noise.Simulation results show the superiorily of the proposedscheme in terms of robustness to uncertainty incomparison with other researches.
